External Applicants:
Application forms for any of the positions listed maybe obtained at the main reception area at 677 South Salina Street. Resumes are required, unless otherwise indicated. The Office of Human Resources will forward materials to the appropriate Program Director for consideration. After the review of resumes is completed, finalists will be contacted directly by the Program Director to schedule an interview.

All Employees

Disability - The Salvation Army provides a short term disability plan free of charge for any employee who becomes eligible for maternity leave or sustains a non-work related injury or illness forcing temporary discontinuance from work.

Worker's Compensation - The Salvation Army provides Worker's Compensation coverage for all employees who sustain a work-related injury.

Tax Deferred Annuity Plan - Offered through Mutual of America, this 403(b) plan is a pre-tax savings benefit with a variety of available investment options.

Credit Union - Offered through SUNFIRST, POWER and/or MONEY, this program provides one stop for all of your personal financial needs. Includes deposit accounts - share accounts, time deposits and credit products - personal loans, real estate and home equity loans, etc.

Mileage - The Salvation Army will reimburse employees for necessary and incidental expenses and costs of transportation incurred on their behalf.

Parking - Most employees receive free parking on a first come, first served basis.

Full-Time Employees

Paid Time Off

  • Bereavement (up to 5 days a year)
  • Holidays (11 holidays annually, 12 in an election year)
  • Sick Time (one full sick day for each month worked)
  • Personal Time (3 sick days used for personal reasons)
  • Vacation (up to 5 weeks, depending on length of service)
  • Jury Duty (Full-time employees will receive full pay for absences)

Health Insurance - Coverage includes medical, dental and vision.

Life Insurance Policy - $10,000 policy is free for all full-time employees working in excess of 30 hours a week. Additional low-cost insurance available for employees, their children and spouses.

Pension Plan - Available to all full-time employees, working at least 20 hours per week and five months per year.

Additional Benefits

Day Care Discount - All full-time employees who utilize one of The Salvation Army Day Care Centers are entitled to an employee discount.

Employee Assistance Program - Confidential assessment and referral program available to all Salvation Army employees (full time and part-time) and their eligible dependents who are experiencing problems causing difficulty in their life at work or at home.

Remitted Tuition - Available to all full time employees enrolled in matriculated program of study at Syracuse University or Cazenovia College.
