Worship What is The Salvation Army? When our name comes up in discussion, most people think of the red kettles, Christmas food baskets or the trucks that pick up donations of furniture and other personal items. Indeed, these are parts of The Salvation Army, but what many people don’t realize that The Salvation Army is also a church. In fact, since its beginnings in London, England in 1865, The Salvation Army has always had a solid spiritual base that motivates all we do -- the Christmas kettles, the thrift stores and the shelters and counseling programs are all a part of our ministry because of our gratitude to God for His goodness to us for the past 143 years. We provide church programs that speak to both spiritual and practical needs. Both of our corps (churches) have a Sunday Worship Service, weekday activities for children, Bible Study groups, social and fellowship groups, and choirs as well as other music groups. All of our programming is designed to allow people to make friends, grow in Spirit, learn new skills and gather strength to meet the challenges of a difficult world.
Citadel Corps There are extensive group and individual services that focus on substance abuse and recovery issues. Sunday worship and various weekday programs emphasize strengthening the family, conquering addictions, spiritual social growth and development. Worship services are every Sunday morning at 10:30am and are open to all.
